I came across a quote not long ago that seems relevant. I like my quotes, I think it feels like I can relate to people more when I come across an interesting quote.
“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go…” Dr Seuss
Yesterday I arrived into Calgary from Los Angeles airport after a very early start and leave from LAX. I spent the afternoon setting up my SIN number and opening a bank account then did some shopping at the nearby mall before having an early night at the hotel near the airport.
Today however, didn’t start out as the greatest of days.
I was scared, nervous and anxious as I left my hotel to catch the bus out to Lake Louise to start my brand new life.
After I stayed in a hotel last night and having a lonely and confusing night, I decided last minute, that instead of catching the bus, I would hire a car from the airport and drive myself to Lake Louise and let myself take my time getting there.
I turned up to the car rental desk at the airport and luckily they had a cute little Hyandai Veloster Turbo which I plugged my phone into so I could play my own music along the way.
I turned on the SatNav to get myself out of Calgary.
It was the best decision I had made in a while.
There is nothing like having your own hands behind the steering wheel when the view of the Canadian Rockies comes over the horizon before you.
I did make a quick pit stop in Banff to stretch my legs before I reached the beautiful Lake Louise, my new home..
I explored the Lake and took in the overwhelming view then found the staff building where I checked in and was shown to my temporary residence as my unit wasn’t quite ready to be moved into yet for a couple of nights.
Anyway, time for an early night tonight, its been quite a long day and a big journey!
